Occasionally, the service might seem a bit slow, but the staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is absolutely fantastic, so it's easy to overlook any delays. It's worth mentioning that there's not always a long wait; sometimes they're just busy because everyone knows how great the food is. This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat!
I’m sorry to hear that Cindy had a negative experience; it seems some people are just hard to please. I believe Speckbaum is a hidden gem in Winterport, Maine. I had breakfast there for the first time, and my parents often visit without any complaints. We tried the haddock hash, and I was surprised that no other restaurant had thought of it before—it's amazing! The spinach quesadilla with mushrooms and feta was fantastic, and I look forward to having it again. I didn't try lunch, but I can't wait to go back!
What a disappointment! We enjoyed appetizers and drinks on our first visit and were excited to return. Unfortunately, our second experience was nothing like the first. There was only one waitress for the entire packed restaurant, and she struggled to focus on our table of five while also trying to answer the phone and attend to other tasks. Most of the food was poorly prepared—the rice was soggy, the scallops were tasteless, and the prime rib was overcooked, thin, and served on a soup plate with risotto. After finishing our meal, we ended up waiting for a long time without any attention from the staff. Overall, it was not a good experience, and I’m unlikely to go back.
