It was extremely good, as was the dessert. We were so satisfied that we decided to go back the following evening. We then sampled their speciality: schnitzel trilogy (3 schnitzel each with its own sauce or topping, to be chosen amongst many options in the menu. The portions are outstanding, so much so that the staff bring takeaway cartons for leftovers unsolicited. Talking about the staff, they were extremely friendly and attentive, and even though their English is quite basic we had no problem getting understood. The atmosphere is very traditional German with a touch of Bavarian. On both nights we spent slightly more than 30€ per person including wine, coffee and schnapps. Definitely recommended for a satisfying meal in Essen!
WOW is this place great. We found it by searching Trip Advisor, and we are so glad we did. The schnitzel is incredible. Expect MASSIVE portion sizes. Too much to eat. Great authentic atmosphere. Excellant service. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP This place was so good we returned 2 nights in a row I will definitely return
I can recommend the 3 schnitzel for €15 offer. Select 3 schnitzel from the menu and you will get them with french fries and vegetables. Very good food, nice atmosphere with mostly locals. Has a biergarten in front.
We were there for the second time yesterday and had taken friends with us. these were at the beginning still the idea of creating the xxl schnitzel in any case - thought. these large carvings are easy the 8-10 times amount of a normal carving. even though we were only in doubt that this mass cannot be a good quality, we were taught a better one. the carving is neither pressed meat nor glued, it was made from a piece with a sophisticated cutting technique into the large shape. the panade is not too thick and throws - as expected with a good carving - wavy. the pommes were very tasty and crispy, as well as the bratkartoffeln. we had the carving with champignons and wobble, also these were well fried and deliciously seasoned. we did not take the XXL carving - but for at least 2-3 days eating. after the defensive eating there was no hunger anymore - but place for something sweet, such as ice, would have been with us all. unfortunately there is no dessert. this is the only small manko I could find at landgasthaus brandenburg.
Because of the read reviews we have been there. the beer garden is nice and the ladies at the front were also polite. the first stranger was that the waiters took various orders- the one only eat, the other drink, and after all everything. ♀️We then ordered a xxl carving, as we couldn't estimate the extreme size from the pictures. the cellar also asked which supplement we wanted without even giving the tipp that we can never eat. later, he came up with a snippy: "There is internet, there you can find out how big the portions are," while he let us stand. To eat - I had a carving with ham and cheese baked over - there was a tab-- I made exactly one about two finger wide strips, after which was bad. the carving itself was quite dry. my partner had a scavenger with an egg, swash and mushroom on it, which was better, but was so extremely full of wobble, which one had only too soon enough of the penetrant taste. the only good are the human prices and the packing of the food. Here never definitiw again, even because of the waiter not/:.
