We then looked at the QR code menu, and found it was super short and a bit confusing. Since it was such an uncomfortable environment, we walked out.
I'm giving four stars instead of five for just a couple of things that should be easy to fix. Let's start with the positives. We met friends there before a show at Mad Life. It was our first time there and we will definitely go back. We sat in the front room with a view of Main Street. It poured down rain right after we got there. It was charming. Our server was very attentive, polite, and professional. The food was delicious. We all enjoyed our drinks, apps and entrees. She had us checked out in plenty of time to get to the show. There were just a couple of things they could improve upon. The room was a bit stuffy. The ac was not working properly if at all. And the stairwell was super dark. Perhaps rope lighting along the lower edge or lights on each step would give more confidence especially to folks who don't see well in dim lighting. All in all it was a positive experience and we are glad to have another good date night place in downtown Woodstock!
Food portions seemed small and the noise level was very high. Although we know they couldn't control it, the ac was out and it was quite hot. We were not impressed and are not likely to return.
We ordered French toast and scrambled eggs and bacon. The toast was drenched in syrup and was the consistency of cream of wheat. Total mush. Eggs were cooked perfectly but had way too much salt. Bacon was delicious! They don't serve tea. Hot or cold. Eggs and bacon came out way after the toast. But. Service was good. Everyone very nice. Will go back but specify syrup on the side and no salt in the eggs!
Great spot up top overlooking downtown streets and great ambience but no fans in the open air. This was our first time going and service was SLOW, server was not educated on the menu items and what was in them. They offered no specials and the menu was very limited. The kitchen was SLOW and bar was SLOW, food was good but small portions. This was not explained to us either. The kitchen would NOT let me order a side of fries as a starter. I could only get those if I ordered the steak dish that they came with. It does say in tiny print on the menu that they don 't allow changes to their dishes. Seriously? It 's just fries! You woud think as a new business, they would be more flexible. We did have the scallops, gnocchi and some other items that were good. I 'd go for cocktails, sit by the window and take in the activity, then move on to better food options elsewhere. Sad that they missed the customer service mark on this great spot and we were still hungry after dinner ! Unfortunately, we wont return any time soon to eat.
