The marinated mushrooms were a nice touch. The popovers are always funny. The baked filled lobster was filled with lobster meat was delicious. We shared the baked Alaska and it was big enough for 4 and was so delicious.
This was the first time I ever had a Thanksgiving menu in a restaurant. Usually this is a family affair in someone's home. Created in the last minute plans and we were limited in our restaurant decisions. That said I and other family members were very happy with our selection of Anthony's. My sister was the only one who had been there about 25 years ago! The staff was attentive, friendly and very hepful. The food was very good: turkey, filling, cranberry sauce, potatoes, beet, apple wine, cake, squash soup, popover, etc. Ambiente was perfect, crisp fires, low music and fantastic scenery. Anthony's is old school and the building is weathered; but both of these properties can be overlooked. I would recommend this restaurant.
Food tastes like it came from the freezer. The waitress did not understand the meaning of oak in a Chardonnay. The only redeeming factor of culinary experience was popover. Wouldn't return.
The place looked closed, which is good and bad. The food was amazing and the view is incredible, but wished they had outdoor seating to take all the views. The dining area is dated and could use some serious DC. The bartender was great, but because it was the end of the season, they were short employees and the poor guy had the bar and our table in the dining room. You need to be open more than three days a week to help more employees. The food quality was great and one of the reasons I would go back.
The evening was delightful in every way. While some reviews mention the dated building and decor, it's not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. The view, especially at sunset when we visited, is stunning, making it easy to overlook any faults. We were impressed by the private party rooms, which were absolutely beautiful. If the main dining room had that same charm, this place would be exceptional. Despite this, I still highly recommend it.
