The current owners knew a winner when they saw it and have made very few changes. The decor and most of the menu remain unchanged so the legions of returning summer visitors will still feel right at home. Although it could be considered a classic diner, seafood is still king here and it's well done indeed, including Clara's famous Hot Lobster Sandwich and in house Mile High Lemon Meringue pie. A visit to a Yarmouth is not complete without a visit to the Q & T!
The Quick-N-Tasty earns an "A-OK" with 3 stars on Yelp.
Joanne's Quick-N-Tasty is the successor to Harris' Quick-N-Tasty which was an institution for over 50 years in the seaside town of Yarmouth. In the same building with virtually the same menu, Joanne's is turning out some of the best seafood in Nova Scotia. The fish cakes are simply the best you will find anywhere. You get two huge cakes and a salad for less than $8.00.The place is also famous for lobster done every way possible including the legendary hot lobster sandwich. Check your gall bladder at the door if your order it, but it's worth every cent of the $22.00 price.Except for the hot lobster everything else on the menu is priced well below what you will find in comparable establishments. The desserts are amazing. On a recent visit they were offering seven different desserts based on the local wild blueberry crop just coming into season.A little ways outside Yarmouth on the way to the Annapolis Valley this place is worth driving a little extra distance for. Great service from Joanne and her son Noah.
What a surprise. We stopped in for a quick bite back in 2000 as we were in Yarmouth County to visit family. To our surprise as you go inside there are booths to sit at. On the walls were paintings that are for sale. We looked at the menu and were quite surprised that all of the items were reasonably priced. Since that time we have stopped by every time we have been in Yarmouth. The food is great and staff are friendly. I have tried several items on the menu over the years and have been pleased with all of them. I must recommend their clam chowder and rappie pie. The best that I have tasted on the south shore. And I forgot the desserts. A huge variety and all homemade and delicious.
Looking for a quick stop for lunch. My husband and I both ordered seafood chowder. It was the best I have ever eaten, wish I could have ordered more to take with me, but chose coconut cream pie instead - I wasn't disappointed with that either!
