Handel's Home Made Ice Cream

I absolutely love getting ice cream from this place! In fact, I braved the cold and rain last night (3/19/2022) to grab three quarts: two of chocoholic chunk and one of chocolate chip cookie dough. The employees are always so sweet and friendly. However, when I scooped out some of the chocolate chip cookie dough for my kids, I was shocked to find not just one, not even two, but three long hairs in the ice cream. Seriously, how does that even happen? I really dislike leaving negative reviews and wouldn’t have if there was just one hair, as I know accidents can occur. But three? That’s tough to overlook.

I visit Handel's at least every four days and typically order quarts of praline pecan. Unfortunately, I've been let down lately because most of the time, I end up with vanilla ice cream and just pecans, with none of the butterscotch flavor included. It’s quite disappointing. I’m thinking about switching back to Katie's Korner instead.

The ice cream is truly fantastic, but I wish their hours were a bit longer. For two consecutive days, I only thought about ordering it around ten o'clock, which is when they close.

I was initially hesitant to order the hurricane, but wow! Karter whipped up the most amazing Oreo hurricane I've ever had. The staff was incredibly hardworking and fantastic! Overall, it was a delicious and delightful experience! Poland stands proud against the world!

The service was quick, and the ice cream was delightful. A small cup or cone costs a little over $3, which is the perfect portion size for me.
