レストラン Xī Lì - 備前市

While cycling from Okayama to Akashi Kaikyo on the way, I decided to stop in Nissei to try Kakioko and found a restaurant along the road. It was my first time trying Kakioko and it was different from what I had imagined, but it was incredibly delicious. I had imagined a regular okonomiyaki with oysters in it, but the batter was different. The bottom part of the batter was fluffy and well-cooked, but the inside was creamy, resembling monja-yaki. The finely chopped cabbage added a crunchy texture and stood out. The oysters were placed on top without any gaps, so every bite had a full oyster. When I was taking photos without adding mayonnaise, the waitress suggested that it would look better with mayonnaise and added some for me.

I stopped by on my way back from a sightseeing trip to the beautiful district on December 29th. Actually, I had already had a Kaki Fry sashimi set meal at a different restaurant in Nissei the day before, but I was still craving more Kaki Fry so I came to Nissei again. It was midday but the restaurant seemed to be quite popular among locals, and I felt comfortable using it. It seemed that the Kakio-ko was more popular, but I stuck to my plan and ordered the Kaki Fry set meal. As expected, the Kaki Fry was delicious since it is the local specialty, and I was satisfied with the generous amount for 900 yen. It was a simple restaurant with a diner feel, but as a Kaki Fry lover, I was very pleased. I would like to come back again before the season ends.

The Kakio-ko was delicious! The regular size includes 8 oysters. When it's not the season, they use frozen oysters, but they still have a rich flavor. I heard that the fresh ones have even better aroma. Conveniently located right in front of JR Hinase Station!

3月の日曜日、１２時半ごろ行きました。 待ち時間もなくスムーズに入店できました。 日生はカキオコばっかりで関西人の私にとってはカキオコ以外も食べられるこちらに伺いました。 牡蠣のメニューも豊富だし、その他のメニューもたくさんあったので小学生2人と大人2人でしたがそれぞれに食べたい物が食べれたのでよかったです。 目移りしすぎてどれにするか悩みましたが、注文してから特に遅いと感じることはなかったです。 女将さん？の方も愛想がいいし、どれも美味しくて大満足でした。 また日生に寄った時にはこちらでお食事したいなあと思っています
