きらく Xiǎo Wū - 大島町

The pizza, pasta, curry, and cake were all delicious at this cozy café near Motomachi Port on Izu Oshima Island, about a 10-minute drive from the port. Located down a narrow path by Oshima High School, you'll find a sign leading to a parking lot. Further ahead, you'll come across a charming cabin surrounded by lush greenery, where they seem to be growing blueberries and vegetables in the garden. The handmade cabin, furniture, garden, and food all blend seamlessly with nature, creating a relaxing atmosphere. This cozy café, run by a friendly couple, offers a peaceful retreat in the midst of nature. The dishes, made with natural ingredients and local produce from Oshima Island, showcase their dedication to quality. Recommended by a local acquaintance, we had a wonderful time here, and even bought some homemade jam with blueberries and strawberries – it was incredibly delicious.

The staff at this restaurant are extremely kind. The handmade atmosphere is warm and cozy. Both the meals and cakes are very delicious. The souvenirs are also tasty. This is one of my favorite cafes.

The couple warmly welcomed us and even shared some insider stories about Oshima. The food was amazing no matter what we ordered, but the curry was especially delicious. We had curry two days in a row and will probably have it again tomorrow.
