Cafe 59 - Buffalo

I had the salmon yesterday. The fish was a tiny portion, dry and tasted gross. The broccoli looked and tasted like it was from a frozen bag. The rice was basic, nothing special. I was still eating when the waitress had me pay. Awful experience overall. I won't go back.

The burgers here were a religious experience. I was very nervous looking at the prices initially, but it was worth every cent. Even the fries were phenomenal. I had a cocktail as well and was very pleased with the taste, too. The staff were very welcoming and patient and more observant than me (thank you for catching me before I left with my wallet and sunglasses . Will definitely be reccomending this place and hopefully returning soon.

Horrible service. We went yesterday at 2:30 before our Teddy Roosevelt tour. Due to the poor service we barely made the 3:30 tour. Had they been busy, I would have understood a delay, but the place was almost empty. We sat outside. The beeping from the crosswalk signal annoyed my wife, but we put up with it. We waited ten minutes for the waitress to come to our table. Then, I walked in to place our order at the bar. After waiting at the bar a couple of minutes, the waitress came out of the kitchen and took our order. She said nothing about the fact that I had to walk inside to place the order. After waiting twenty minutes, I was ready to leave. Just as I started to get up, our food finally arrived. She gave us our food and threw down some napkins. Given the lack of service, I immediately asked for the check. I immediately laid down cash to pay the bill. I was getting ready to take a picture of the check and cash, less we be accused of dining and dashing, so we could leave. But, she finally came back to collect the money. There were two tables that were served their food as we arrived. The waitress only checked on them to present their bill and take their payment. She did that when she brought our bill. One table had been done quite a while and was obviously just waiting to pay. I usually tip over 20%. The total bill was $34.80 and I left $35.00 in cash. I feel like the $0.20 tip was too much!

Food and service was outstanding, definitely will be going back.
