Don?t be fooled by the other five star ratings. It?s quite obvious eitherthose reviewers have never experienced a true five star restaurant or are simply awed by the atmosphere, which albeit is lovely. We were greeted by a somewhat rough around the edges waiter, we ordered the first course (mussels) and drinks. I ordered agrapefruit martini which arrived much too sweet for my tastes (my fault since I should have asked prior regarding itssweetness). I promptly switched to a red wine which was fine. The mussels arrived, I make much better at home myself, so a 3star course. Nothing to write home about. The bread and butter served with the meal also could have been improved upon. Warm thebread, sprinkle some flake salt on the butter, it?s not hard to improve upon bread and butter. We then ordered salads and ourmain course. I was promptly informed not to order the trout because it ?wasn?t very good?. Hmmm ok, not what I want to hear butfine I?ll take the waiters advice and order something else. I ordered the ?crispy? chicken which came with carrots and greens. The waiter informed me it had greens with it and asked if ?I liked collard greens? because ? well you should know before youdecide that a lot of greens comes with it? as if he assumed I wouldn?t like them despite them being obviously listed on themenu. My partner ordered the scallops. Salads were fine, but the bagged Caesar salad mixes at your local grocer are much betterso don?t waste your time unless you?re craving a mediocre salad. My ?crispy? chicken arrived, however using the word crispy isquite a stretch. There was nothing crispy about it. The ends were over cooked, it was served in a bowl (terrible plating choicebtw), the carrots were practically raw and lacked any flavor or seasoning and the greens while cooked to the pr

We celebrated our 50th anniversary with a special dinner. It was excellent and staff went out of their way to make it special. The pinao player played many requests. Food was very good.
The early patio seating worked out well. Perfect ambience, very good food with superb presentations. Christopher was great, made a special event even better.
