The kitchen consisted of microwaves and I saw a lady cooking and eating off the trays. Despite spending £40, my partner was refused a small wine because of the minimum charge. This pub was a disappointment.
If I could give this restaurant a negative star rating, I would. It is an absolute disaster. The owner is incredibly grumpy and rude, showing no concern for how long customers have to wait to be served. The service is clearly suffering as a result. The food is terrible and takes an eternity to arrive. There are no gluten-free options available, and when I inquired about my allergy, I was even laughed at. While the location is beautiful and the outdoor garden is lovely, it is not worth the frustration of attempting to get a meal here.
The outdoor seating area was beautiful, but the bartender was unfriendly. The requirement of a five pound minimum spend on cards made the price of a lemonade quite high. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
Absolutely awful miserable bar man expensive drinks don't bother going shame because ideal location
On arriving at the pub a very grumpy man appeared from behind the bar didn’t even say hello. Made to feel completely unwelcome. We stay as we had just walked 5miles and wanted food and drink. I ordered drinks and a sandwich. I was immediately told it’s white bread as out of bread. Didn’t have any choice I then ordered cheesy chips. See the photo that all I’m saying. Loving garden, gammon in the sandwich was nice as for the welcoming feeling definitely not there. I won’t be stopping again, it’ll be one of the other pubs in the high street.
