Chandol was the same as I used to be in Penang. I just missed that I couldn't take any other food in this store.
First thing on your mind on entering this shop is to drink a bowl of cool and refreshing chewy green chendul mixed in rich coconut milk and finely-shaved ice topped with sweet gula melaka syrup. It goes well with spicy Malaysian food like Penang asam laksa or white curry noodles. A good and satisfying breakfast. But, don't compare with the original servings at the roadside stall far, far away at Keng Kwee lane, off Penang Road, Penang. Minor complaints about this stall Ipoh Parade: more expensive, chendul strands are a bit frozen and less chewy, and coconut milk not fresh enough.
Definitely better to eat here than the original place in Penang. As there are too many tourists there, things are more chaotic. Taste of Chendul and other food are also below par.
The price is affordable and the taste is fragrant. Cendol has durian taste, cempedak taste and original taste. Laksa and prawn noodles are also recommended.
Relatively good Cendol great taste and large portions. Nice air conditioning too. Only the disadvantage is that it feels prefabricated.
