Maca-Ronni - Köln

The atmosphere is outstanding, the food is fresh and tasty. The furniture need a renewal, but the waiters compensate this through their warm and funny way.

Every year during the ISM exhibition we book table at Maca-Ronni as they can creat amazing atmosphere with live entertainment. It starts shortly after guests are done with dinner and it goes on till there are people in the restaurant. The musicians will make guests to stand up and more in the rhythm. I have always experience this restaurant fully booked thus one should expect that meal preparation will take some time.Food is tasty, Steaks or Italian dishes, pizza and pasta are available.

There are moments in your life that you will look back upon with great regret – mine was the moment that I decided to entrust my emotional and physical well-being to a restaurant called Maca-Ronni.It started with a flourish – the Vorspeise consisted of a corned beef salad that was so unpalatable that my face contorted into a shape that restricted my ability to eat this mush.What followed can be best described with violent convulsions. The “Kalbsbraten” may have been the worst meal produced by any professional ever. I don’t mean professional chefs, in this statement I am including professional skiers, bin-men, artists and yoga instructors. The “chef” made the decision to cover the “beef” in gravy. An interesting choice – one possibly made by a gap-year student who has never cooked a meal before.The temerity of the “chef” to serve such an inedible slop to someone they have never met, let alone their worst enemy, is beyond belief. I have the genuine belief that my body may have given up on existence, should I continue to eat.At least the service was excellent. The waiter was appropriately surly and ignorant. When quizzed with that most English of German phrases “Was ist das?” (regarding the “meal”) he simply shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Apparently, he didn’t know what the food was either.We eventually went to another, better restaurant to eat actual food. I was one of the better decisions of my life.I have never wanted to leave a restaurant without paying before, but this place was worthy of worse – a flamethrower perhaps, a Molotov cocktail or a personal visit from Boris Johnson’s personal hairstylist. I wish I could erase this company from existence. Hopefully you won’t make the same mistake I did. I regret it more than Brexit, than Donald Trump, the refugee crisis, various genocides, The X-Factor, stubbing your toe, papercuts, walking on Lego bricks, North Korea and Communism.Thanks Maca-Ronni – thanks for showing me that McDonald’s is comparatively excellent.

We were 2 couples who went with a Groupon voucher. We had a nice time, but the service was very bad. There was also someone wanting money when you use the WC.
