The service was wonderful too. The staff were extremely patient with us and were very warm.<br/ <br/ My only issue with Mr Mason was that the food took unacceptably long to be served.
Came for exress lunch at Mr Mason love the internal deco (would be lovely to sit beside the fire place during cold weather : <br/ <br/ Pressure pork shoulder with apple puree brussel sprouts the pork was excellent, soft and tender full of favor apple puree was very smooth and not overly sweet which complement the pork very well. Brussel sprouts was gently caramelized with hint of bitterness.<br/ <br/ Passion fruit parfait with banana bread crumbs I can't complement or crisis this dessert... It's bit cold to have ice cream during this weather, would be better if it's on the menu for warmer weather.<br/ <br/ Would definitely be back again to try other dishes
Fantastic dinner spot. On point French with a hint of Australian. Food was delicious and what we expected portion sizes. Good for groups or date nights. Dim lighting and upbeat music playing on a nice volume sets great atmosphere for dinner.
I always want to go to Mr Mason during the colder months. Love sitting near their open fire even though it's not wood. The problem is, the dishes (taste) may not be that consistent. For example Partner had a lamb once and raved and raved for the whole week. So we had to go back for it the week after. He was disappointed. Same dish. But not cooked as well. Dry chewy in various area. I like my fire so we go to enjoy the ambience. But we would of gone more frequent if we could be more confident with the dishes consistency. Also, they close pretty early, so it's not that suitable for late diners like us
Came for some drinks at the tail end of a friends lunch and ate their dessert the plum and cherry clafoutis which was deliciously French and at $10 was not only a steal from the friend that ordered it but also a bit of steal in general. We then had a few rounds of the White Mochtini which is their twist on an espresso martini. I really enjoyed the addition of the white chocolate liquor and it was much approved on the original for me (probably because I like chocolate more than coffee). The sleek decor and exposed brick gave it a nice ambiance too. Would certainly be interested in returning despite the fact that French food is not my cuisine of choice as both the service and atmosphere was lovely
