Yeolmu Guksi offers an incredibly delicious menu that includes pork cutlet, slightly unconventional tteokbokki loaded with tempura, ramen, and gimbap—all of which are fantastic. The Yeolmu Guksi and kimchi noodles paired with the pork cutlet are outstanding and truly the highlights. You can tell they take pride in their radish kimchi, and the fact that they make all their side dishes in-house adds to the overall deliciousness of the meal.

They offer decent tteokbokki and tonkatsu. I remembered loving their tteokbokki combo, which I last had years ago. It came with gimbap and soondae on the edge of the bowl that you could dip into the sauce, and the wax display of that dish was quite tempting. However, I was really disappointed to discover that it misrepresented the portion size. The wax display showed the tteokbokki overflowing from the bowl, but what I got was only half of what the bowl could hold. I understand that inflation has affected many, but this left a bad taste in my mouth. The food itself was tasty and satisfying, but unfortunately, this was my second-worst experience in the H Mart food court. (And whatever you do, don't order naengmyeon from the neighboring stall; you will be greatly disappointed.)

Tteokbokki is perfect in every way. Best comfort food korean in Illinois!
