Since it's off-season at the shore, we were seated promptly. While the service was a bit sluggish, the dishes we ordered were exceptional. I tried the cookie dough stuffed French toast, and it truly lived up to my expectations. The reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars is due to two factors: first, the prices are a bit steep for a breakfast spot in Ocean City, New Jersey, and second, the slow service, which could be a significant issue during the busy season. Overall, though, it felt like more of a special treat rather than a casual meal. I had a wonderful time!
The restaurant doesn't use real butter, and I found the prices to be quite high. There are plenty of other options in Orange County that are just as good and more reasonably priced.
The highlights: 1. The gluten and dairy-free sundae is simply amazing! Check out the photos—it's hard to believe it’s real. Everyone loved trying a bite. 2. The bacon is fantastic! Make sure to add it to whatever you order. The good: The burger was cooked perfectly and had a nice thick patty, and the toppings were plentiful. The not-so-good: The fries were disappointing. They were similar to Five Guys' fries—thin and soggy, which made them unappetizing on the plate. Also, the walk to the bathroom is a concern. There's an old tripping hazard where the floor height changes, making it not wheelchair-friendly. I really don’t understand how this flaw was approved by the city inspector. Overall, it’s a significant improvement for this beloved summer spot. The food is good enough that we’re already thinking about how to save our leftovers for the journey home on our next visit!
The restaurant doesn't offer wifi but is quite popular. I tried the eggs Benedict, which were decent but not particularly impressive. I can't recommend the unusual hash browns—they're more like small cakes made from grated potatoes with some seasoning and what seemed like a bit of flour, then deep-fried. They definitely don't resemble traditional hash browns. There's a small fee for using credit cards. On the plus side, the service was friendly, efficient, and quick. They also have a few tables outside.
Since the recent merge with green eggs, absolutely delicious!Bacon, grits, latte, eggs Benny, 10/10!!!One of the best breakfast joints on the island now!
