Highly recommend this great restaurant. A top quality seafood restaurant. Come to this area for the last 10 years as I have family nearby, and I never ever fail to come to João de Longueira. Alot of people eat their “cataplana” and “arroz de marisco” which is very good, but I also highly recommend their “carne de porco alentejano”, a traditional Portuguese dish with cubed potatoes and pork and clams. As someone born and raised in Portugal, this is the best one I’ve had and always make sure to have it when visiting. A must-go

Such a wonderful warm welcome awaits. We enjoyed the most magnificent Bream that had just been caught served with the tastiest sweet potatoes ever. The local craftwork was superb too. An evening to remember and if we lived closer we would be regulars here. Worth the journey! Excellent accommodation close by!! Thank you from table No 1 November 4th 2021.

I visited because this was the only restaurant open here that night. I was seated in the porch area. The service was slow but friendly; the staff spoke very good English and were happy to explain the menus. As I was seated in the porch I couldn't help notice a collection of flies in the porch windows trying to escape. This got worse as I ordered my starters as I literally had to wave off 2 over-friendly flies every 15 seconds while I tried to protect my food. Over the course of the night I had to retrieve 2 dead bodies of mosquitoes/small flies that decided to top themselves in my half bottle of wine. Finally, as my main course was brought out, the fly that had been hanging in the cobweb of the latch of the sliding windows in the porch, also became a main course, as I had to watch the local spider tuck in, about 8 inches from my main course. The food as it happens was extremely reasonable and very fresh and tasty, at least a 4 out of 5! Just a shame the restaurant could not solve the insect problem with a bit of vacuuming and a fly zapper.

Nettes portugiesisches Restaurant, sehr familiär. Essen lecker, einfach, grosse Portionen und ohne Schnickschnack. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können es nur weiter empfehlen
