Grow Your Roots Cafe - Ottawa

The GYR Cafe is awesome. Even if you are not vegan you should try this place. We had a lovely dinner there tonight. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful. My hubby is not vegan and he really enjoyed the food as well. And it was very refreshing to be able to order off a restaurant menu and not have to alter and/or question the ingredients. Thank you so much GYR Cafe for a lovely meal. We will definitely be back!

Breakfast and lunch are awesome. Totally in a weird emplacement but worth the drive. Waited a bit for water which was annoying but food is delicious and the resto is lovely.

The cafe is so cute, the staff are wonderful and the food is incredible! I had the Mel's Fav panini with fries and a side of fried avocados to share for lunch today. The lunch was great and the portions are generous, but make sure you save some room for dessert too because the treats here are amazing! I got a chocolate cake truffle (so decadent and chocolatey and a lemon lavender cookie (my favourite! for myself and brought a nanaimo bar home to my husband. I stole a bite of the nanaimo bar before he ate it and immediately regretted giving it to him, it was too good to share. Definitely worth visiting, even if it's a bit (or a lot out of the way for you!

My office had our Christmas party catered by Grow Your Roots. I was the only vegan amongst many omnivores, yet all my omni coworkers were so impressed and surprised by how great the food tasted! The sandwiches are all amazing so it's difficult to choose which one would be the favourite, but the TLT and the pear and brie sandwiches were quite popular amongst everyone at the party. The squares and cookies are so delicious many were surprised that they were vegan. Mel's nanaimo bars will always be my favourite. If you're ever in need of catering, I'd highly recommend Grow Your Roots. Impeccable service and deliciously amazing food.

Cinnamon buns are amazing! Great place for a vegan lunch/brunch. Our 3 year old gobbled up his hollandaise biscuit! Staff are lovely will definitely be back it's worth the drive!
