O Poejo - Ponta Delgada

I have found the place just wondering around. It was a nice surprise to find out a cozy place to take the lunch. Food was good, tea was great.

We had lunch at this place, it looked fine and with a lot of people, thats good. Regular menu and we ordered sandwiches, one chicken and one tuna. Both sandwiches wore boring, white bread with dry slices of chicken, small pieces of lettuce and one slices of tomato, nothing more, and the tuna-thing was only tuna, nothing more. We ask for some mayo so we could eat the them. We do not recommend this place.

Excellent service with a lovely patio. Geat food at reasonable prices. Stopped here after a nice bike ride around the lake.

We visited O Poejo at recommendation of Hotel Santa Barbara. The place had multiple tables free but staff made sure we waited outside 3 blocks of 10 minutes always promising “wait 10 minutes please”… it felt like a candid camera show because tables were free but they made us wait outside… there were at least 5 families of tourists that popped up and upon seeing us waiting gave up! We were a family of 6 with 3 children a baby and even when they passed by us and saw baby in the cold staff could not care less. I took two pictures of the place when they were making us wait

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch after walking around the Lago Azul from the main viewing points (a 3 hour hike) and found this place on Google. It was perfect and probably our best meal so far in Sao Miguel. They have a super salad menu the vegan salad especially worth a mention with a good balance of veg, beans and fruit which made for a tasty and well textured salad. The tables are all well spaced out form each other in a lovely courtyard that has a calm and relaxing atmosphere. As you enter you must check out the cakes made on site there is so much choice and all of them looked delicious. We tried the carrot cake which was good and they also had the option of a gluten free biscuit. Staff were friendly, polite and also very helpful arranging a taxi for us back to our car, which can be tricky if you read other travellers stories. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
