Eating was great. but the service was marginal. the server apologised for the service once we set ourselves and it was only worse from there. there was no one who filled drinks, water or peeling plates. we have asked about everything several times. others around us complain about the service. I would say this is a management problem if they don't have enough coverage for silvester. the food was excellent.

The food was excellent though.

The ambiance was nice and suiting for downtown, the service was good and the prices were reasonable.

I love sushi and was severely disappointed by the quality of the rolls. The spider roll was disappointing; the roll fell apart inmedielty and was extremely large. The only redeeming quality was the vegetable tempura. The waiter disappeared and was never in sight.

We went to dinner at Sapporo for our son's 16th birthday. We go every year for his birthday and he really enjoys the place and the food. This year it was below average. Our server seemed to concentrate on trying to upsell the food options, which was annoying. When she realized that we weren't interested, she gave our table very little attention. Our food was fine but it was really lacking the fine dining experience we wanted for our family. There wasn't anything special about the night or the food. We won't be coming back to Sapporo.
