Habanero Mexican Grill - Thousand Oaks

I know this place is new so I will give this place another chance later down the Rd. Pros: Clean Big tables and comfortable seating Tasty carnitas and chips Cons: Their spicy salsa isn 't even hotter than taco Bell 's hot sauce. Which is ironic given the name of the establishment. Can only get salsa by asking the front register and you have to ask for anything other than their basic salsa. No explanations. No hot sauce or extra napkins on tables or anywhere for easy access, let alone any other condiments like onions, cilantro, hot carrots etc. Salt and pepper are the only things provided to the customer! signs for specials are not very descriptive or specific. staff very monotone and uninviting, responding with grunts and zero smile. the horchata was really just a room temperature glass of milk with a little cinnamon. They served it with no ice. the one cook is cleaning tables instead of cooking even during busy hours with a line of customers. This seems unsanitary. their $2 taco special that occurs once a week should never be sold for a penny more given what you receive.

The food was quite bland, but the service was good. However, the prices are outrageous. It cost $70 for two people, and this place tries to present itself as a restaurant when it's really just a small diner. It's not worth the money. The ceviche had no flavor, and the carnitas looked old and overcooked. I recommend heading over to Cisco's in the same shopping center for better food at similar prices—you won’t regret it!

I genuinely want to appreciate this restaurant, but unfortunately, it just doesn't quite measure up. I fear they may not be in business much longer. The service is slow, and while the food is acceptable, something feels off about the overall experience. The place is often empty, and it usually feels lifeless. The vibes are really lacking.

Extremely overpriced. Don't go here. Go somewhere else and you get better food for less money. A Taco plate is $20

This place is ridiculous. They charged me $25 for a quesadilla and a coke. And then wanted to charge me extra when they skimped me on sour cream and guacamole. First and last time I come here.
