Fantastic location, beautiful nature. I have respect for the history of the hotel. but the place needs much love and much better administration. I have booked a room with a view of the lake, that was the whole point to choose this place, but we have a room with a forest view. disappointed . at the reception they said there was no availability of the swimming pool was another disappointment. the water was cold. the pool walls were dirty. no personal gift. Normally, places like these historical, are known by exceptional selection and quality of food. here is no case and finally, at this price, you should expect a sufficient service and money worth. we never come back.

A historic hotel and the old section is like a small museum. but the rooms feel and look like a they built in the seventies. old and worn. the dinner is too expensive. very nice staff. and beautiful location.

Charming, old, great staff and a beautiful little swimming pool I had everything for me. minus for the zero-sound insulation between ream and flur, I woke every time someone went over the room.

2200 nok per night even for Norwegian standards is expensive, or at least they would expect hotel and rooms to be in much better condition. the old part of the hotel looks like museum, and the location is amazing. but our room was outdated / well maintained, ventilation system was loud, and if they are vegan their breakfast options are almost no (except brot and salat. in the hotel is super old, and perhaps it offers its offer of people from another time (no penalty, but older generations eat almost exclusively animal products and are responsible for the condition of our planet.

Well overpriced, 4000Nkr for one nigit with a mediocre buffe and no possibility for a la carte it was unfortunately under all the criticism. sad as straand is in the historical hotel book. also the room lacked soap .the lights in the bathroom were broken and no information about the hotel. The pool area had also no towels or soap Nice staff though.
