The sandwich was as well, though very cold; it would have been so much better warm or at least room temperature. Prices here are higher than I'm used to. I'm certainly not used to paying almost $6 for a macaroon. Please! With this said, good food and great people watching in central DC.
A great place to start your day with a fresh chocolate croissant and hot cup of coffee. The breakfast special is only $3.39. the staff is very friendly and helpful. Near the Archives Metro, it's a perfect place to relax while waiting for the museums to open.
The service was great! I had the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich and it was great!! Then ordered some desserts and they were just as good. Easy to find downtown, parking just sucks but that's too be expected. Definitely make a trip here.
Was glad to find available seating as the line was quite long (popular lunch place). Was my first visit there. The clam chowder (pic included) was fantastic, very flavorful and lots of clam bits. Didn't enjoy the tomatoe mozzarella pesto sandwich as much, good cheese and bread but the pesto didn't give it enough flavor imho.
Ordered the leek quiche to go and a slice of the apple almond tart (ate that before I could take a picture). They were delicious! The crust was the best part. Their employees were nice as well. And it was awesome to see the bakers in action.
