Unfortunately, the sea urchin was sold out, so we ended up at Ezogashima in search of it. The unique owner runs the place by himself and the prices may be a bit higher than other places, so it may not be for everyone. However, for us, being able to enjoy sea urchin from Utoro within the scope of tourism was lucky and okay. The Utoro sea urchin was incredibly fresh and delicious, and we were able to have it twice! It was so amazingly tasty. We also got hooked on the Rausu kelp tea we had here! Across the road where we parked our car, we found the same item for 10 yen cheaper. Sorry Ezogashima, but it was a great experience.
During a visit to Shiretoko Goko, I stopped at this restaurant. The crab curry was delicious and only 900 yen. There were three restaurants lined up, with Chiba Shoten closed on the left and a long line at Kumanoie on the right. I decided to eat here to avoid waiting in line, but they had sold out of sea urchin. I debated between the salmon and salmon roe bowls, but ultimately chose the recommended crab curry. The seasoning was good and there was plenty of crab in it, making it very tasty. It's located in front of Roadside Station Utoro Shiretoko, so you can walk there from the station.
The sushi was very fresh and generously portioned, worth the price. It was extremely delicious, however, I was surprised that the restroom was a Japanese-style toilet!
