If you want to eat seafood in Shimane, this is the place to go. Good value for money. I recommend the Kameya set meal. Although it's the same elsewhere, sashimi and seafood bowls can get boring. Here they have grilled fish. I was recommended to stay in my car in the parking lot before, but I was charged a corkage fee for bringing my own alcohol, so -1 star. It's my style to eat a fish set meal, drink nearby, and sleep in the car park (except in the summer). A bit stingy. The chef seems to be Waffle-off, I wonder if they're okay...

I often pass by Route 9 for work, and I have always been curious about a Japanese restaurant called "Kameya" that is a little ways into the ocean side from Isomata. I never had the chance to visit, but on a Sunday afternoon when my family and I went to the Sand Museum, I decided to take a chance and peek inside - and it was open! As I entered, there was a long hallway with a fish tank on the left displaying a serene sea bream swimming. The husband and wife owners were running the place. They recommended the Kameya set meal, so we ordered it. The Kameya set meal cost 1600 yen and came with sashimi and grilled fish. The sashimi included horse mackerel, sea bream, sea bass, conger eel, white clam, yellowtail, and more - it was a generous portion! I visited on a Sunday, and while there should have been no new fish deliveries due to the fishing ban, the freshness was outstanding. The horse mackerel had no fishy smell at all and was incredibly delicious. The grilled fish included horse mackerel, flounder, and red sea bream - the seasoning was spot on! I wished they served Japanese sake... Although it was a bit pricey, it was a restaurant I would definitely want to visit again.

I was told at Kameya Teishoku that they could make the grilled fish with Mebachi (big-eyed tuna), so of course I had it that way. It cost 1900 yen. There were many types of fresh and delicious sashimi, and the grilled Mebachi had plenty of sweetness and was very good. It was a wonderful lunch.
