The staff kindly explained about the local culture and food. I recommend trying the zaru soba, duck soba, and finishing with a tofu pudding set.
Visited in February 2019. This restaurant is located right below the Shiiya Minzoku Hakubutsukan. They cultivate and mill their own buckwheat, and hand-make and serve soba noodles. Indulge in authentic hand-made soba noodles in the secluded village of Shiiya, known as one of Japan's three great hidden spots, with a thorough commitment to homemade ingredients. The set menu includes homemade tofu and appetizers made with locally sourced vegetables, all with a gentle yet rich taste. The soba noodles are incredibly firm with a dipping sauce mixed with egg yolk for a smooth and rich flavor that enhances the taste. The Florentine made with soba seeds is also delicious, pairing well with the flavor of butter for an elegant Western confectionery that goes perfectly with coffee. Looking forward to more information sharing in the future!
Located near Itsukushima Shrine, this restaurant serves handmade soba noodles. The dishes served here are all made using ingredients from Shiiba Village. The soba noodles had a good texture and were delicious, perfect for those who love soba noodles. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys soba noodles.
