Tiān Shèn Běn Diàn - 上天草市

On February 20, 2022, around 11:00 am, I made a stop at a restaurant during the JR Kyushu original tour titled "Let's Go by A Train 10th Anniversary Winter Special - Journey to Amakusa Yushima". As part of the tour's lunch menu, I had the "Battera Konoshiro Sushi Set". The battera was wrapped in thinly sliced Yushima daikon, making it easy to eat with its bite-sized pieces. The firm texture of the fish, crunchy cucumber, and refreshing shiso leaf added to its deliciousness. Additionally, the hearty dango soup with chicken broth included in the set warmed me up thoroughly. The restaurant had implemented thorough COVID-19 measures, allowing me to enjoy my meal with peace of mind.

Located a bit off the main road, so it may be a bit hard to find. Both the fish and meat dishes were delicious. The Dago soup came with a choice of soy sauce or miso, and it was served piping hot. We went for lunch on a weekday and the restaurant was not crowded. The private room was a great place to have a quiet and relaxing conversation.

The restaurant is located fairly close to Kumamoto city, making it easy to get to. You can enjoy fresh fish from Amakusa here. I heard that their tempura and dango soup are famous, as well as their sea urchin. The tempura is wrapped in thin daikon and was quite unusual and delicious. The dango soup allows you to choose from flavors like miso, soy sauce, and curry. The sea urchin was fresh, without any fishy taste, and absolutely delicious. The prices were also relatively reasonable and overall, it was a nice experience.

落ち着いた雰囲気の店内で個室もあるので超お気に入りスポットです！ ダゴ汁の量が多いので、いつも少なめでお願いしています（笑）
