It’s been there for a while now and had been on my bucket list for a long time, but it took me a few years to finally make it here because they don’t take reservations and it’s always packed even on weekdays. The place specializes in natural wines and you can order by the glass or bottle. All of the wines by the glass seemed to be priced the same. There is only one choice for a glass of sparkling wine, but for both reds and whites they give you a choice of three daily selections. The service is great and their delicious food goes well with the wines. We highly recommend ordering the egg with mayo, hummus, and the octopus with avocado. They also have a large selection of bread that you can order by the slice. We recommend getting several types of bread, especially the focaccia. Ahiru Store opens at 3pm (as of March 2022, they are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays), but there is always a line even before they open. Since we went on a Monday we thought that we might be able to get a table even if we got there a little past 3pm, but we ended up waiting for over a hour for a table to open up. This place is worth waiting for even if you have to wait for a while, but make sure you come here only when you have a lot of time and aren’t in a rush to get anywhere afterwards.
Pretty famous natural wine bar in the area- no reservations accepted and people start queuing before the store opens (even on weekdays). If you want to make the first round, you probably need come at least half hour before the store opens on weekdays and an hour before the store opens on weekends. Dark and cozy interior. Pretty much no space at the counter. However the food was really good, especially considering the price. Hummus was delicious, and so were the meat dishes. Would definitely be back!
The place closes at 9 a.m. at 8 a.m., but the beautiful people there leave us at 10...! The white wine was too eclectic to me, but the red was delicious. (You can only choose from the wine at the time you order open). Every single court we ordered was Jum. It is one of those places you wish you lived nearby so you can go every night.
Awesome little wine spot. It's popular af, so you'll have to get there early or expect to queue. You can get geeky if you need to, and the food is excellent if you're not in a rush.
Favorite wine bar in Tokyo. Menu is entirely in Japanese but managed to point to food items others had ordered ate delicious tapas: grilled octopus avocado, a spicy arugula fennel salad. Glasses of gamay orange wine. A very cool crowd packed even on a Tuesday evening. (We waited outside for 5 minutes before the bartenders crunched everyone a little closer to make room for us. Welcoming staff low key but lively vibe.
