Mexican mood is not in the focus anyway, as they had no Mexican beers, not even negro modelo, and the non-subtle musical game was in no wise mexican. the place seems to me as an outside visitor a restaurant with a few beers on tap, how less than most inexciting standards, and a Mexican inspired menu made ok. not really what I think as a gastro-pub, it felt more like a Mexican restaurant for me minus the Mexican decoration, music and vibe. the bright ale of fanø was good, and the cheese sauce with tequila and a very strange texture tasted super, the huh in the soft tacos was moist, but the soft tacos themselves were, despite color play, rather bland and rubbery, not the soft and puffy with a burned edge of cast iron experience they expect. good fillings. friendly staff, good cocktails. I have many bad experiences with and very low expectations at ålborg restaurants, it will hardly get worse in Denmark, except perhaps helsingør. but mariachi was good eating, great cocktails, good atmosphere, if not very mexican, and friendly people. I could come back very well next time and eat.
Genuine Mexican cuisine- great experience and excellent service. value for money- large portions and huge beer cards
I and my wife were here. this is the best Mexican food ever costed. absolutely one must try in ålborg!
First impressions were that the place was a little dark and gloomy, lighting? But eating is more than for these. we started with chip like dinge, which were somewhat too tight for the delicious dip, but the following tacos were stupendos and...have real understanding for Mexican food. my first margarita was prepared by a glass that just came out of the dishwasher and was too warm. When I pointed out, I found out that my second margarita glass was cooled and excellently the cocktail was put off. delicious, like eating. the Mexican music would have added to the atmosphere. we understood that the owner was not there in that night, if he had been, I am sure that the experience would have been even better. but all in all very recommended.
After several visits I must confirm that the food is delicious, the beer selection is comprehensive and good. The staff is very friendly and easy going and to my austonishment I and find friends finish the evening with a very special Porto Tawny. If you...go there, ask for the Tawny Port reserve, it is worth it.
