We tried the pate, and oysters to start and had a sazarac and an old fashioned. Pate was different from what we expected but it was delicious! Oysters were super fresh and the minionette was grrat. For entrees we had both the veal meatballs and the deer patty. Both dishes were excellent! They have a very good wine list, including a couple of varietals that are exclusive to the restaurant. Liked the Syrah.
When is Stockholm right? Had to try Swedish meatballs in Sweden and this got me there. Ordered a hotdog and the Swedish meatballs as my menu and sat by the window my meal. Service here is nice and quick. The staff were very friendly and made suggestions for my pairing with a drink. There is a more seat down portion of the restaurant as well as a quick dining area which is where I sat. There is also outdoor sitting which is great when the weather is good. Overall had a great experience
Super belated review! I really enjoyed my dinner at Nybrogatan the service was friendly and the food was good. I especially enjoyed the carbonara! We ordered the cauliflower dish but it had too much roquefort IMO. (I'm not someone who LOVES blue cheese. Random, but the BUTTER served with the free bread was so. good. Like wow. FYI they close for a bit transitioning into dinner service, but the bar remains open if you want to enjoy a drink! The interior is nice, dimly lit during dinner time, and they have an extensive drink/wine list. I initially wanted to dine here for brunch though, so if I'm ever in Stockholm again, I would definitely come back to try some of their morning fare : [22/100]
Our last night in town, we went to 38 as it was recommended by a friend and we are so glad we did. Seating was pretty full, so even though we had reservations at around 9:30pm for a table, we decided to take the bar to get an earlier start on eating. The bartender was super friendly and very helpful in telling us what dishes were the most popular/what he would recommend. We got the brie cheese appetizer (out of this world) and the gnocchi as our main (I wish I could eat this every night). As for dessert, we got 2 and I would say the lingonberry ice cream was the clear winner from the pavlova. Super hip, great food, highly recommend this place!
Extremely friendly service, a local favorite, great place for groups, dates, families, you name it. Great variety of cocktails to choose from, as well as bubbly and wines. I bet you haven't had truffle mac n cheese like how this place does it. It's amazing. So good you must savor every bite! There's actual truffle shavings on top. The pasta, cheese, every single ingredient just tasted amazing and it's so worth getting. I decided to try a traditional Swedish fish dish here. It was a variety of fish, roe, a mayo like sauce on top of toasted bread. Sort of like a bruschetta. I can't remember the exact name but it's a tradition and I'm glad I tried it. With that being said, I wouldn't order it again. It was the saltiest thing I have EVER had in my life!!! I struggled to finish and the bartender even warned me beforehand, that most people will like it or not so much.. he was super nice to even give me a basket of bread to ease the copious amount of salt that's in that fish. Speaking of bread, get their bread basket! The variety of breads is delicious, there's some pound cake like bread, a flat toasted crisp one, a couple sourdough, rolls, etc. When fine dining in Sweden, you really should try even the simplest things because you'd be surprised at how fresh/different it tastes from the states.
