We had a good time for dinner the other day. The restaurant only offers tasting menus of different “sizes”. We went for the 6-course option and glad for it. The amuse-bouche was interesting, in particular a leaf that tasted like oysters. Was skeptical when the waiter mentioned it though he was right. The salmon terrine was pleasant yet forgettable. And that’s ok because the following dish completely blew my mind. Scallops with a ponzu based sauce, daikon and… macadamia and cashew nuts. The nuttiness, acidity, sweetness and citrusy flavours were exceptionally original and well balanced. Probably the best scallop dish I’ve had (and I had a few… . This one was worth the visit. Other highlight was the cod dish. The lobster ravioli was ok and the pigeon wasn’t my wheelhouse though well executed. The dessert was fresh light, exactly what is needed at the end of several courses. My wife had a juice pairing which was pretty interesting and well thought through. I had a couple of wine glasses recommendations which worked well with the menu. Service was top notch, attentive without being overbearing and very knowledgeable about all food and drinks. Overall a pleasant surprise
We arrived at the very start of dinner service with a booked reservation. We were promptly seated and were advised not to get the full tasting menu unless we were prepared to be there through the entire evening. We got it anyway, and asked for the non alcoholic juice combination four interesting beverages to be paired with each of the dishes. The tasting menu dishes were beautiful to look at, the beverages made for superb accompaniment, and the tastes were novel and interesting. The two deserts were among the finest I've ever had just delicious. And although we were there for just over two hours, the process certainly didn't take the entire night. We felt properly filled and nourished at the end of the evening but not overly stuffed. Once we were finished, we asked for the check and then proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. After about 40 minutes of attempting to wave someone down, we finally stood up and headed toward the door. Coats on, we stopped at the front desk and naturally someone hurried over to take my payment. It was an annoying end to an otherwise brilliant evening of excellent food and good service.
A delightful dinner in the heart of Aarhus. A wonderful tasting menu pair with wine, in a smart casual and cozy venue. We really enjoyed the dining service.
Am amazing dining experience. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was amazing. We had the 6 course menu with the wine pairing- a great choice. Don't know when we'll be back in Aarhus but we'd definitely dine here again.
