Cheers Bar & Grill - Abbotsford

Attended Aug 1:30pm as wished a refreshment and some food. Three other men inside and not busy so asked for a beer and paper and looked at menu. Pleasant smiling waitress, Louise who gave me a drink(4.78)odd $ in good time. Lots of window light and patio for smokers outside. I ordered a side of French fries(4,95) with gravy. Came in good time but hardly adequate and small amount of gravy in small bowl that hardly covered my chips. Fries the very slim kind and not many. Did not taste even warm but chips do cool fast; the gravy also not warm. Waitress asked if I wished another drink which I appreciated. Quiet in this pub, no sound on t.v.s. Nice clean wooden tables and décor with bar tables in a few area's. Small food menu but I think adequately priced. Lots of parking on pub lot, also outside patio. Happytravels.

We visited the restaurant in the late afternoon for a quick meal. We ordered the crispy pork ribs, but were disappointed to find that they arrived completely dry without any sauce and in rather small portions. Both of us who ordered the same meal received identical plates. Another person in our group ordered the Reuben sandwich and found it to be much better. The decor of the restaurant is old-fashioned, with two rooms (one with more comfortable armchairs) and a smoking room. There are TVs all around the place showing sports events. Overall, we were not impressed by the restaurant itself as it seemed too big and too old. However, the service was good with a friendly waitress who even gave us discount vouchers for our next visit.

The servers and bar staff are polite and knowledgable. For a older style bar they have several craft beers on tap, which is nice. The food is good and reasonably priced.

Decor is dated and they still rely on an ancient computer system which servers have to memorize codes for. I can only imagine this is why it took our food so long to come. When the food finally came it was Luke warm and lacking in taste. Will not be back.

Well the cheers gang are not here but the place is. Very busy when we were there. Great wings we had and salads fresh and crisp
