I had a delicious hotdog with homemade condiments at this restaurant. The owner was very interesting. I read about him in the newspaper and had to search for the stand in Abby. I got mine with coleslaw, onion jam, and mustard and was not disappointed.
Every time I visit this restaurant, I enjoy a delicious lunch and leave feeling satisfied. I have brought several friends here who also praise the food. The toppings, foot longs, and buns are all great, as are the drinks (especially the ginger beer). Skully, the staff member, is fun and has a great sense of humor. He can turn a bad day around with his positivity. He may playfully tease you for liking ketchup, but he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
I had high expectations for a delicious hot dog but unfortunately, I was let down. The pretzel bun was tasty but the recommended toppings, especially the coleslaw, made it soggy. There were so many toppings that it overpowered the flavor of the hot dog itself. Sometimes, simplicity is key in order to truly taste the hot dog. I feel like I paid too much for what I received and as a result, I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
He's an artist. The hot dogs are fantastic, but being a foot long I brought my wife along so we could split one. Toppings are exceptional. And the buns where does he get those buns!?!?! Unlike any hot dog bun I've ever had, anywhere....But to top it all off, Skully apparently tested every Grape Soda he could get his hands on, and his favourite is nothing short of fantastic. My wife thought I was nuts when I insisted that we go there for lunch. But the combination of hot dog, bun, toppings and the grape soda has turned her into a fan. Next up: we try the Montreal Smoked Meat. Oh, and one more thing: he's donating a kidney to one of his customers; now that's service!
