Grape Grain - Aberdeen

I had a wonderful evening at Grape and Grain last night. The atmosphere was very relaxing, and they offered an excellent selection of wines. The service was great, and to top it all off, we enjoyed fantastic live music from a talented young musician named Emma. It was truly brilliant!

I give this restaurant five stars for its service and atmosphere, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. It's quite strange for a wine bar not to offer platters on Saturdays. I ordered a plate that was supposed to feature various types of ham, but it fell short of expectations. The tortilla tasted store-bought instead of homemade, and the cheese board had more bread than cheese. I truly enjoy this place and have visited numerous times, but after my last experience, I’m uncertain if I will return.

The venue has a nice atmosphere and a great selection of drinks. However, the staff were quite pushy and somewhat rude. We were told we had to leave our table in 20 minutes, and then we were asked if we wanted to order more drinks, as "20 minutes is plenty of time to drink them." I don't appreciate being rushed to finish my drinks just to make room for more customers. It's a shame because it's a lovely place, and although we didn't order any food, the platters looked appealing, albeit expensive.

I've visited on a few occasions and love the atmosphere and the offerings but consistently over the last few occasions we have been rushed out of our bookings. On my most recent booking we had booked a 60mins slot but started to be rushed to leave from 45mins onwards. We were told with 10 mins left that the next table was waiting (not sure how that is our problem? and that we really had to finish up. I've never before been rushed out of a bar with a half full glass and this has now happened multiple times now that it now leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

If you're looking for a romantic setting to enjoy a glass of wine and a meal, or a place to share drinks with friends in a cozy atmosphere, this is the spot for you. The staff is fantastic—friendly and engaging, making you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. This place is definitely a must-visit! I know I'll be returning for sure.
