When cappuccinos arrived, the waitress spilt one all over the saucer and no replacement was offered, a napkin was presented for us to wipe it up! They were watered down white coffees with no foam! The banoffee pie, well where do I start. The toffee sauce was only around the outside of the pastry and the case was mainly empty give or take a few small slices of banana. The lemon meringue pie had barely any lemon sauce again an empty case and very dry. Overall very poor and that’s not the first bad experience we have had here. There is cost cutting and cost cutting, really poor show and it cost £18! We will definitely not be back and would not recommend!
I went to this restaurant with a friend for coffee and cake. The coffee was delicious, as well as the cakes. The drinks took a bit longer than usual, but it was during a busy time so it was understandable. One of the waiters even came over to let us know the drinks were on their way, which was a nice touch. The service was very friendly as well. I have also been here for lunch before and it was always fantastic.
I’d rather you didn’t go so there is a table for me!! What a fabulous gem of a restaurant alongside a lovely farm shop. There are two sections to the restaurant. A conservatory, which is available for use with your 4 legged friends. And then an indoor restaurant. The staff were efficient and friendly. The choice of food was good and prices were fair. We each had a toastie and it came with salad, slaw and crisps! Plenty to eat! BUT……. You need to keep room for dessert! On the day we went there were at least 20 choices of cakes, slices and other goodies. And they are big!!! My mum and her friend split a cream meringue and even split it was HUGE!! The kitchen staff have to be praised. The quality of their food and the speed things came out. They must be a finely tuned machine! Well done!! Is there any downside. Not down just a caution. The conservatory is not fully enclosed, it’s all glass but has gaps around all the panels. So if it’s cold outside, you might find it chilly. They take reservations and I would book if I was going during a popular time and I wanted an inside table. I hope you love this place as much as we did!!
During our journey to Aberdeen, we decided to stop at this restaurant to charge our car and grab a meal. I highly recommend this place for several reasons. The staff was friendly and helpful, the service was fast, the food arrived promptly and was incredibly tasty. The Cullen Skink soup was fantastic, and the sausages and mash were deemed the best meal my partner had tasted in a while (and we were on holiday, eating out frequently). Additionally, the prices were reasonable for the quality of food we received.
The restaurant is in a fantastic location and the food is absolutely delicious, making it a highly recommended spot for lunch. During my first visit, I had an amazing curry and was so impressed that I returned a few weeks later. However, I found that the menu had changed. Nevertheless, my friend ordered the goat cheese salad, which was both huge and tasty. The small gift shop is a nice touch, as it offers local produce for sale. The service is excellent, the restrooms are clean, and there is ample parking available.
