Great food (hubby loves their bacon rolls), very well priced (compared to many other similar type places we have visited over the years), lovely friendly staff and the gift shop always has lots of lovely items to browse…a purchase is always made. Never disappointed at all.
2 aging motorcycling pals stopped here for tea and cake when touring in the area. We had a wonderful welcome from the staff who explained the various cakes to us which we found to be of super quality. Go you win’t be disappointed!
Excellent cake, coffee and tea in a beautiful part of the world. Highly recommended. Gift shop attached has some interesting items for sale
Great place to have lunch and cakes, fast service and welcoming staff with a great wee shop as well would definitely recommend stopping off
Really dissapointing visit! The disabled /wheelchair ramp access now littered with outside tables and dogs making it a slalom course to go through. Never used to be tables in this area and needs to kept clear and more easily accessable for wheelchair users. Food has always been good here and as we had been out all morning without eating we were really hungary, so went for the cheeseburgers, when the waiter asked if that was with ALL the trimmings, we said ooh yes please as we were 'starving '! Quite a wait as it was busy but gave us time to look forward to eating a good lunch. Could hardly believe our eyes at what arrived cheeseburger with no cheese and 'all the trimmings ' consisted of a small desertspoon dollop of coleslaw, a spoonfull of chopped iceburg lettuce with 2 halves of a cherry tomato and one slice of cucumber! The no cheese cheeseburger had a big dollop og mayo on top of the meat and some tomato /onion relish on the underside. Customer 1 (me) isn 't keen on mayo and so scraped all the gunge off, customer 2 had ordered the bacon cheeseburger, recieved the same but with a small rasher of streaky. So much for a hearty lunch with all the trimmings. We called (a different) waitress over to say we had ordered cheeseburgers who promptly took them away, then came back with same things saying it was underneath instead of on top. A further inspection of what was between the bun and meat only revealed relish and creamy gunge of mayo. Starving as we were, we ate every little morsel. The meat was meaty and bun soft and fresh, but cheese and trimmings non existant /minimal. At the till, the waiter who took our order asked how it was, so we said not at all what we had expected and very dissapointed. He said we should of told them, well we did! He did say that there should of been crisps with it, so don 't know why we didn 't get any when the waitress took them away and brought them back out! We will give this place a miss for a while and try the burger van up the road instead next time or just wait to Tomintoul where we know the bacon rolls are really good.
