We had two dinners last night. The fish was supposed to be large but it seemed smaller than what you would see in a fishbowl. It was overcooked with dry and burnt batter so we ended up throwing it away. My wife's chicken dinner was also the same, so we had to throw that away as well. We will not be returning as it doesn't compare to Clerkhill chip shop, which is unfortunately closed on Sundays.
I was completely ripped off at this restaurant. They tried to pass off a crispy chunked burger as a chicken roll, and the onion rings were not even cooked. I did not receive a refund either.
We stopped in for lunch expecting to try the "famous fish and chips", but were disappointed by the small size and poor quality of the fish. It's ironic that we received such a tiny portion in Peterhead, known for its large fishing industry. We were also promised a choice of garden or mushy peas, which we never received. Overall, we felt completely ripped off and the meal was not worth our time or money. Even my 6-year-old could have eaten more. This was definitely the most expensive "goldfish" I've ever had.
Eta was 55 minutes for my online order (for 2 fish and chips when i turned up and I was given some marker thing and told that when it lights op my order would be ready. I then had to stand outside in the freezing cold for another 40 minutes, seriously. (Why have a online order booking? The staff where really busy but also really rude and obnoxious. It's definitely NOT worth the wait. Take your business elsewhere. Other friendly locally owned businesses would be more than happy of your custom. Would give zero if I could.
