Every day they get fresh fish. you choose yours, they marinate them, grill them and serve them with tears, borons and tortillas. we ordered one for 4 people for $800 pesos around $60 usd). we also ordered shrimp quadillas and some sopis as appetizer, plus some pop soda and we paid with 15% tip) $1,100 pesos $85 usd,) not bad. tomasita gave us a few fresh cocosnies free, we drunk the water and then they opened them and offer them in a plate with lime, salt and hotter sauce. mm. delicious! when they eat there, they can bring their own beer what we did. it was a quiet, beautiful day, on the sand in a non-filled beach, with sunshades, beach beds and hammocks on the sand. is a must when they go to acapulco.
If you are in Acapulco, you have to take the road and go to Barra Vieja, around a hr drive, south of downtown. Take Barra Vieja Blvd south, and ask any of the locals offering you to go to their restaurant for "Tomasita's" place. Is a typical Mexican non-fancy restaurant by the ocean. It has a little pool, hammocks, coconut trees, sand, tables and chairs to lay in the beach. If you eat there, all is free. Every day, they receive fresh fish. You choose yours, they marinate it, grill it and serve it with rice, beans and tortillas. We ordered one for 4 people for $800 pesos (around $60 usd). We also ordered shrimp quesadillas and some "sopes" as appetizer, plus some pop soda and we paid (with 15% tip) $1,100 pesos ($85 usd), not bad. Tomasita gave us for free a pair of fresh coconuts, we drunk the water and then they opened them and offer them in a plate with lime, salt and hot sauce... mmm... delicious! If you eat there, you can bring your own beer, which we did. It was a quiet, beautiful day, laying on the sand in a not crowded beach, with umbrellas, beach cots and hammocks on the sand... is a must if you go to Acapulco.
