When I asked about the high sitting, they had no idea what I was talking about. our server was not very good. I feel like I bought something I didn't want. when we ordered our food, she asked what suppe or salate we wanted with our meal. I was under the impression that we had to choose because it came with the meal. When I got the bill, I found it was a champagne fee. when I asked our server about the fee she acted as if she had no idea what I'm talking about and said everything was loaded on our menu. she would have told me that it was an additional fee instead of appearing as if it were with our meal that I would not have agreed to the salat. yes, this restaurant is for people like me. the last thing I'd expect is as if I were shading over an salad. but it happened.
We sat near the entrance/elevator where the deck is very high. we felt something isolated, because the restaurant was not full. eating was very good, but expensive high. scallops excellent, filet excellent, huh very good. spent pre-dinner time at the bar that I would highly recommend. friendly server, good laundry card, good drinks, good view.
That was the New Year's brunch. the tables were bleak without medium pieces or decoration to mean that it was New Year's Day. .It was disappointing that there was no festive feeling for a holiday. our service was in order, but it was a buffet brunch where the service was really our own. eating was cold, think cold eier benedict. ewwwww. the sausages were dried up like sausages. the buffet had eaten everywhere and crumbs. the carving served bark, which was well made and dried. Actually, there was nothing I ate, that was really good. this was absolutely one of the worst culinary experiences I have experienced lately. it's a shame because the place has the intention. but the restaurant did nothing to supplement the ambiente, and eating was terrible. the grand traverse resort is a renovation and hopefully this restaurant will belong.
We were there for the New Year's buffet, eating was not the biggest, much of it was overwhelmed from outside for a long time. the omelett and the roast beef were great. the deserts were good, except the cream brulee, which should have been heated up just before serving, but sitting outside and cold up (cross). the atmosphere and the service were top notch.
The meal was wonderful. Unfortunately, we felt a bit rushed. We had a 7:00 reservation and we were back in our hotel room by 8:15. We would have much preferred a more leisurely pace.
