I've known this place for at least a decade and they never failed me. Almost everything is delicious! The hotel is located in the historic area of Addis (4Kilo), with a beautiful outdoor seat under the tree Vibe!
Romina probably has one of the best foods in Addis Ababa. Maybe you're wondering why 4 stars then, right? Let me tell you a story. First day I was invited to visit the place of a friend of mine and found it amazing. We had salad plates that were my favorite dishes and it was also delicious. Next time I had a guest in Shiro Mada. After we finished, I took her to one of my favorite restaurants in the city, as I said. When we arrived there, we had given a parking place that was under a beautiful tree in a short drive. After lunch we went back to our car and the assistant didn't get any phone number of the person who parked behind us. Don't go out. We waited an hour before and then drove with us to buy somewhere else. I got a call after an hour a total of 2.5 hours. I'm usually patient, but the situation was ridiculously disorganized. I wish my experience on the second day was something else. Nevertheless, I recommend this place when you are in the area and make sure you take care of yourself in a parking lot.
We enjoyed our meal here in the covered, outdoor dining area. The chairs are comfy and the menu is huge. My daughter ordered peanut tea and beef stir fry, I had chicken kebabs with rice and my partner had chicken biryani. The beef stir fry was a bit spicy but the other dishes were not. For three people and drinks we spent about 40 USD
I recently visited Romina restaurant with the intention of having a pleasant dinner with a friend. However, my experience quickly turned sour due to the disrespectful and unprofessional behavior of the manager and staff. Firstly, my friend was running late, so I decided to send her a picture of the food menu to allow her to choose her preferences in advance. While taking a photo to send her, the manager appeared out of nowhere and began yelling at me in front of all the other customers. The way he spoke to me was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. It made me feel like I had committed a serious offense, even though I was simply trying to accommodate my friend's needs. To make matters worse, around 13 staff members joined in on the humiliation, disrespecting me without any apparent reason. Their behavior was utterly shameful and unacceptable. Instead of addressing the situation calmly or attempting to understand the reasons behind my actions, they chose to gang up on me, creating a hostile environment that left me feeling humiliated and disrespected. Naturally, I wanted to address this issue directly with the manager. However, his behavior towards me made it evident that I had no one to share this experience with. If the person in charge of the establishment treated me in such a manner, it is clear that there is a systemic issue within the restaurant and sharing my grievances with the manager would likely lead to no resolution. Therefore, I have chosen to write this review as a way to express my disappointment in the management and staff of Romina restaurant. I strongly discourage anyone from visiting this establishment due to the rude and disrespectful treatment I endured as a customer. It is my hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for the restaurant to reassess their management practices and instill a culture of respect towards their customers. No one should be subjected to such unprofessional behavior and I believe it is essential to raise awareness about my negative experience. I hope that no one else has to endure what I went through at this restaurant.
