They had one dish with tofu (not even listed on the menu) and wouldn 't add it to others. maybe 4 vegan dishes? But, the food was pretty decent. Had spring rolls, chips, noodles with veggies, and the tofu dish. Updated from previous review on 2023-05-02
Finding places that have good choice for vegan travellers and meat loving bf always challenging. Slow Boat was reviewed on Happy Cow and off we went. Admittedly I saw a poster in town for free bottle of wine at the restaurant, not sure of the context, so was a little apprehensive of how it was going to be and the location. I'm starting to realise this is Tenerife and not to judge a book by it's cover! There was a section on the menu of veggie options and handy allergen symbols so if egg is in a dish you know. Found the portions to be large! Had veggie spring rolls to begin with which were large and you got two. In hindsight these may well of been in a fryer with meat. I then opted for sweet and sour vegetables and asked for tofu to be added which they did for me. Boiled rice was only rice dish to go with this but no complaints as I prefer that. The portion was huge. Could have fed two I reckon. Rolled out of there stuffed to my gills fit for bursting!
The mum drew us in with her smile. The food was exceptional, really nice staff (I assume a family).
No tomar con pedidos en casa, siempre agradable y buena comida
Wow! Really really good food. We asked the waitress if they had authentic Chinese food and said the dishes were slightly westernised to cater for the customers but it’s still so good and the dishes we ordered I found to be authentic and tasty. Stand out dish was the Beijing pork ribs and tofu with vegetable. I would happily go again if we are in are area again. It’s also on the upper floor and you can sit on the deck to a beautiful seaside/sunset view.
