The “national dish of Denmark “pork belly” was awesome, crispy slices of pork belly with mustard pickles etc. both dishes had beautiful tasty new potatoes. Our hostess/owner was a lot of fun and steered us in the right direction food wise. The desert was a specialty of Ærøskøbing, pancakes with fruit compote, vanilla ice cream, OMG so good! You can’t go wrong with pork lard, event with desert, and these pancakes were fried in that lovely grease! Gooseberry compote and ice cream rounded it all off. The Danish rum yeah really was a fitting end to a memorable meal!
I do expect to eat better than at home when going out for dinner, especially when the place practices Swiss prices. Small menu, always a good sign. Usually. The Wiener Schnitzel was too thick, the breading too heavy and too dark. The Swiss Schnitzel (better known under Cordon Bleu) served with a poor salad without seasoning. The fish literally disappeared in a white unidentified sauce. Not easy to eat. All together, a deception for the eyes, a cantina feeling and a hefty bill. Pity.
Not the best place in Marstal but the food was okay, the waiter (who was also the owner) seemed very insecure. If we come to Ærø again, it is not a place we want to visit.
Waiter friendly but forget us. Waiting time at least 1h 20. They offered free beer but it doesn’t t help really. The main courses varied nearly only between plaice and plaice. And the plaice we got was only average. An annoying evening
Simply good! If you go for fresh fish, Fru Berg is the Right Location. We had mussels very delicious, natural and tasty and then plaice at it’s best with young potatoes and melted butter. Just wonderful. Very typical location directly on the Harbour site. Tak for det!
