Baldwin's Shaved Ice Snack Shop - Aiea

On July 14, 2021, it was so hot that I think stopping by here could become a regular habit when I'm in Palama! I dropped by Baldwin's for a Keiki root beer and a coke with ice, just like always. On July 8, 2021, while we waited for our takeout, I treated myself to a small Pina Colada and pineapple ice cream for just $4.50. The cup was overflowing, and the ice reached about a quarter of the way to the top! It was so delicious that I couldn't wait and dug right in. On June 11, 2021, after sweating from a walk through Chinatown, we decided to get some shaved ice. Due to Covid, no one was allowed inside the shop. They instead set up a tent outside where you could place your order with an employee. We both opted for the Pounder size, which is the largest cup available, for $6. My friend got three flavors (the maximum allowed) and added ice cream for an additional 75 cents, while I chose three flavors: Pina Colada, coconut, and pineapple, with mochi balls added. You can get a lid for the cup, but since it was so hot, we opted to enjoy it right away. It was absolutely amazing! The cup was filled to the brim with Rasureis, and the flavors were fantastic. As we were eating, we were pleased to discover that the cups were loaded with mochi balls and ice cream. This is one of my favorite places for shaved ice because they are very generous with the syrup portion, and the staff is always friendly. It's a perfect spot to cool down during a heatwave!

I lived on Oahu from 1983. 92, last back in 1995 , and hands down, Baldwin's was THE BEST on the island by far... It was simply incredible and blew away all others,and trust me I looked... So glad to see the continued good reviews this shave ice sets the standard !!
