Balmoral Fish & Chips - Ajax

This place was certainly doing a hopping business on the Friday evening we visited. We had no problem getting a table but there was a steady stream of people arriving for take-out orders. We each had Halibut Fish & Chips for (I think) $11.50. One huge tasty piece of fish and lots of excellent hand cut fries. For about $2.50 more, we could have had bread and mushy peas or cole slaw. Our dinner was great value. The service was friendly and prompt. Restaurant is quite plain but clean. Washrooms are huge and clean but could use a vanity or cupboard to cover all the plumbing.

I have only great things to say about this restaurant! Great tasting, friendly owners & staff, sooo good! Tip: In the Pizza Hut Plaza.

Family run and fairly basic settings. However love the fish and esp the batter, very light, almost like a tempura. Real fish and chips with mushy peas. Very friendly Asian husband and wife owners. My British in-laws are there weekly .

Need my semi annual feed of fish and chips. I know the place has been around for years in another location, but had never tired it. Got to admit the place in convenient location and even the place was busy, service was fairly prompt. The place was clean, service was prompt, polite and the price was just about right. Got to admit the halibut was cooked perfectly and the chips were just the way I like them. We used take out but most likely will eat in next time. Would recommend to others.

I am very fussy about my Fish and Chips, found this place 9 years ago and all can say is the best Fish and Chips had. They do all by scratch, an Asian couple run the place and do the cooking. The batter is so fluffy and the fish is like a steak flaky and delicious. You can tell that they take pride in doing this as Thursday through Saturday quite busy but well worth the wait. I don't like places where everything full of oil or grease as this happens as not cleaned regular the oil. This place oil is always fresh which makes the food the way should be not greasy.But I do recommend if never tried give at least 1 chance here guarantee you will not be disappointed.
