Tourist trap. We were looking for another restaurant and was taken here (for free) on a horse and buggy by a man who worked for the restaurant. Having walked a lot that day we were very tired and ready to sit and have a cold drink and something to eat so we willingly took the free ride as it was closer than our original choice. Beans were delicious but food was over priced. There was no drink menu but based on the food prices we didn’t order any drinks as we expected them to be expensive as well. The view was nice and there was a live band which was nice. Most of the menu is seafood. If you can find somewhere better go there, but this isn’t the worst place you could end up.
Surprise! You have to pay the band and pay to use the toilet. Food is good though. Portion sizes are enough for 2 people even for the hartiest of eaters.
ONE start because this wont let me rate lower than that. The one good thing of this place has nothing to do with the restaurant or the people working there, and it is the view. The view is great, you can get to see a beautiful sunset over the bay and old Havana. Now, the people working there have no idea or culture of service. the grilled lobster was under-cooked, the grilled fish wasn't grilled, I think it was fried, because it was dripping some dark oil. The salad was a sadly presented thick slices of cucumbers and couple of leaves of lettuce. The place was infected with flies. One of them landed in a glass of coca-cola and the lady was refusing to replace it because according to her when she served the glass there was no flies on it'. On top of that it was overpriced. You can have better service and better food for far less money anywhere else in Havana. Don't waste your time or money there.
I ordered the shrimp and my wife ordered the lobster at this restaurant. It was a bit pricey for Cuban standards, but still quite reasonable. I tried the fresh guava juice and it was incredibly fresh and sweet. The dish came with rice and a side. The portion size was good, but not overwhelming. We sat on the second floor in the shaded outdoor area with a view of the Atlantic Ocean. The breeze was beautiful and it was very relaxing. There was live music playing, which added to the atmosphere. Overall, they did a great job. Of course, they asked for money after the show, similar to street performers, but that was to be expected.
