Food was great, we had the soap fish and fried river fish, all very well done. For appetizers we had tried the seasoning butter that was excellent with ultra thin-cut toasted bread! The olives were very well seasoned too. Definitely a place to repeat!
We stumbled across this restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The food and ambience exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed a fabulous meal of traditional and authentic Portuguese fare. Small seating area adjoining open kitchen. If you are in the area go out of your way to eat here.
This is a great tapas bar in the middle of the village where everything is prepared freshly in the open kitchen. Wonderful welcome from the owners and villagers alike, and the house wine is particularly good.
Stopped for snack No idea on menu and no prices up Ordered prawns omelet with water n 2 bowls of ice cream €32!!!! Felt a bit unwelcome definitely felt we paid 'special ' prices Still out of the heat on a vv hot day Wouldnt recommend
Whilst boating on the Great Lake Alqueva in Portugal out of Amieira Marina on a Nicols boat highly recommended, by the way.... we went to Juromenha at the very top of the lake, to view the castle. We had previously been told that most places were shut end of season , particularly in Juromenha. It was hot, and we were thirsty and hungry and resigned to the fact that we would have to go back to the boat for lunch. No sooner than we had come to that conclusion, we turned a corner in the tiny village and there was the most welcoming sight of an awning, umbrella, table and chairs in, the street. Low and behold, we had found Pata Largo. Tiny but absolutely charming. As was the owner/chef, a young lady by the name of Janeie de Jesus Espanliol Pepe I think that's what she said..... , but happy to be called Janet. I just remember the prawns as being absolutely scrumptious, as were all the little accompaniments peppers with garlic and oil, olives, lovely bread she brought. More than happy to recommend this little establishment. Very friendly and helpful. Has more English than I have Portuguese, and that's only half dozen words....... . Well done Janet. By the way, if you are boating and phone the restaurant supplied by Nicols hubby will drive down in his very smart Beach Buggy and drive you up and back . It's quite a steep walk up to the village but on a good pathway. Closed Tuesdays but open the rest of the week from 10:00 24:00
