Ivy Room - Albany

Quite possibly my favorite music venue. I've been going to shows for 40 years and, for the last 30 years, I've been in just about every venue in the Bay Area to see bands and AS the band. As an audience member, and as a musician, the sound quality is never what it could be. Sometimes it's the shape of the room, sometimes it's the equipment, most of the time it's the person running the board. The Ivy room has GREAT SOUND. Luck? Talent? Engineering? Who cares why? It is the only place that hasn't made me want to commandeer control of the board. How do they do it? It remains a mystery that I don't need to solve. Hardcore, metal, country, R&B (I've only seen loud bands there) my money says any band is going to sound great at The Ivy Room.

It's not 24 hours. How someone fixed that. Life music every weekend including Fri and done week days. Friendliest staff.
