M G Cafe - Albany

Came alllll the way to try some food for lunch and they are closed! On a Thursday! Some business! Very upsetting ?

After a long day of shopping on Christmas Eve I came to MG Cafe to get a rice and peas meal with jerk chicken and an order of chow mein. The food was really really nice and the portions was filling.Great customer service and Great food what more do want from a mall food court, pepper sauce was one of the best. All the food really brought me back home. Really recommend the place. 10/10

I went on a trip to the mall with my best friend and we have very different tastes when it comes to food. After eyeing up my options, I noticed MG Cafe in the corner with the Guyana flag.They have a lunch menu that’s about $10 and I believe it’s discounted for mall employees. There are also daily specials, and I was fortunate enough to catch the oxtail. It was about $18 and came with rice beans and cucumber.Their oxtail was genuinely some of the best I’ve had in the area. They aren’t quite as spicy as I’m used to, but there’s a good amount of meat on them and they taste home-cooked. Best of all — they’re not greasy like other restaurants sometimes prepare them. The rice and beans were also really good and well-seasoned, too. There was enough food leftover to have seconds later, so I would say it was a good deal. And you grab one of the $10 pick-2 options, you can easily get two meals out of $5.I wish I’d been able to try more from MG Cafe but was surprised to learn they’ve been at this location for two years! This is definitely a good reason to visit Colonie Center more often. It was one of the highlights of my day and I look forward to visiting again soon!

I've been here a few times now and it was amazing each time so I decided to leave a review. The Guyananese Chicken, Curried Chicken, and the Oxtail are all phenomenal! The Rice and Peas (Beans) are some of the best and most flavorful I've ever had! This is better than the majority of Jamaican Restaurants in the area. These guys are awesome business men and I highly recommend getting something to eat at this wonderful establishment.

Had Rasta pasta with oxtail and wife had j chicken with rice and peas . Both were very good with lots of flavor . My new favorite place to eat at Colonie center
