Shining Rainbow - Albany

Shining Rainbow Chinese Restaurant on Central Avenue in Albany, NY, is a great spot if you're craving dim sum. I highly recommend trying the har gow, soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, and stuffed bell pepper. The lobster sautéed with ginger and scallions is also a standout dish, bursting with flavor. The spare ribs were delicious, although a bit too heavy on the sauce; I hope they can adjust that on my next visit. The Young Chow fried rice was made with fresh ingredients and had fantastic flavors. Additionally, the roast duck and steamed chicken feet with black soy beans were impressive. I also appreciated that the restaurant offers both Coke and Pepsi products, allowing customers to choose their preferred beverage. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by—you won't be disappointed!

Food was incredible! Restaurant is decorated beautifully, the staff is attentive and respectful. Highly recommend!

This place serves nice Asian food. I had wonton soup and chicken with Chinese vegetables. Nice ginger and garlic taste with a brown sauce. Huge menu. Will try other dishes when in area again.

The food at this restaurant is exceptional. Although I am not of Asian heritage, I truly appreciate well-prepared Asian cuisine. The frequent presence of Asian customers here speaks volumes about the authenticity and quality of the dishes. Unfortunately, like many restaurants, prices have risen over time. However, the most significant concern I see is its location in a somewhat declining area of Central Avenue.

This place is fantastic! My family and I stopped by on our way to NYC late at night, and I really appreciated that they stay open late. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy. The food was delicious as well. However, I do wish that for the price we paid, there was a bit more meat in the dishes and less filler. For instance, we ordered the roast duck mei fun and were disappointed to find mostly duck skin with very little actual duck meat. This was true for the other dishes too; I felt the meat portions were insufficient. Overall, the food was tasty!
