I wanted to give the lake view lounge a chance as it had sitting outside. when booking or sitting, the host asks whether someone has allergies on the party. I told them I have keliasche disease and I am very sensitive to cross-contamination. the server was made aware and gluten-free recommendations, although not all are marked on the menu and they have no own frit. I ordered the tomato soup as or was completely gluten-free, and it came with a gluten cracker. I informed the server that brought him, and they brought him back into the kitchen and brought me the same bowl and suppenteller, but without the cracker. I pointed the cracker crumbs to the server that took our order and they took it back and brought me a completely new bowl, teller, spoon and serviette.
I have mixed feelings about lakeview lounge. I was initially impressed: the host asks for allergies before he takes them up, and puts them in the computer for the rest of the staff. my server was also knowledgeable and explained the logs they take with the kitchen for celiac ordering. but they do not have a dedicated gf frit, so that dinge like pommes and chips are not safe. they have a GF back option for their burger, although the menu does not mention it. the GF options were therefore very limited, at least for lunch: olive, a few salads and a burger. oddly, only the olives are marked with a gf on the menu, although some of the salads are also gf. even if the olives came out - they disappointed a large conversation with my server about zöliakie - there was a gluten cracker stuck in them. when I drew it to my servers by asking if it was gf, he apologised that it was not and offered to bring out another dish oliven.
The restaurant lakeview lounge has a dedicated GF-Freyer. my daughter ordered a gf chicken and cheese sandwich from the children's menu and it came in the house made deep roasted potato chips! that's when I asked about the deep frittier) and it was huge for a children sandwich.

We had dinner here while at the Fairmont, and it was amazing! The salmon I had was cooked perfectly and the server was very thorough in determining what was and was not GF, and any substitutions that could be made.
